Salary: £42,000-£43,000

(Up to £4,000 salary increase in the first year based on performance)

The role:

We are looking for qualified health care professionals to join as a disability assessor, carrying out assessments for PIP or WCA on behalf of the DWP. You will move away from frontline treatment into a position that combines your clinical expertise with analytic report writing.

This is a hybrid role. Following an initial training period (fully home based for 6-12 weeks), you will move to a 50/50 split spending approximately half your working week in the office and the other half at home.

Key responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough assessments with claimants via face-to-face, telephone, or video appointments.
  • Explore how a claimants physical, mental, intellectual, or sensory impairments affect their functional ability in daily living or work related environments.
  • Use clinical reasoning to probe and clarify inconsistencies in medical evidence, ensuring all relevant information is captured.
  • Adapt different communication styles to support claimants with anxiety, hearing loss, language barriers etc
  • Produce clear, concise, and evidence based reports to support the DWP in their decision making.
  • Complete quality reports(WCA- 5 per day) within required time scales
  • Maintain objectivity and impartially throughout.
Skills & Experience:
  • We do not offer or provide sponsorship
  • Qualified health care professional with current, unrestricted registration with the NMC or HCPC.
  • Minimum 12 months of post-registration clinical experience
  • Competent IT skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Excellent communication skills
