Interior Health is hiring a term specific full-time Program Coordinator | Food Services who is passionate about making a difference in health care.

This is a term-specific position until September 23, 2027.

Based in Vernon, B.C., this role combines meaningful on-site engagement with the flexibility of some remote work. The role also requires travel within the region, including multi-day trips.

The salary range for this position is $69,218 (min) to $86,522 (midpoint) to $99,501 (max) per annum, based on 1.0 FTE. Interior Health typically establishes salaries within the minimum and midpoint of the salary range based on qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.

How Will You Create An Impact

The Program Coordinator, Food Services provides coordination and leadership support to stabilize, standardize, and evaluate various regional food service programs across Interior Health region.

This role is responsible for supporting the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of a consistent operating model, including service delivery, intake processes, cost structures, and reporting mechanisms.

The Program Coordinator works collaboratively with internal and external partners and other interested parties to support defining program scope, improving system integration, and implementing system-wide improvements that contribute to long-term sustainability.

This position provides practical coordination support to a cross-functional team, engaging partners across Food Services, Community Services, Acute Care, Finance, and any external parties to enhance service delivery, improve data integrity, and support consistent practices across sites.

What Will You Work On
  • Engages and facilitates working groups and collaboration with partners and other interested parties including Food Services, Community teams, clinicians, discharge planners, and external partners to support program understanding, alignment, and collaboration.
  • Develops and maintains collaborative relationships to support program alignment and service integration across the continuum of care.
  • Gathers information on current-state processes, workflows, service models, and program variations across sites to establish a comprehensive baseline.
  • Reviews and analyzes program data including volumes, utilization, access pathways, costs, and outcomes to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and improvement opportunities.
  • Develops and digitalises a comprehensive program catalogue, including service offerings, FAQs, contact lists, and stakeholder directories.
  • Conducts a review of intersecting community-based meal programs to identify overlap and improvement opportunities.
  • Reviews existing menu offerings and recommends menu engineering and recipe revisions based on utilization, client preferences, and cost pressures.
  • Identifies risks, gaps, and issues impacting program delivery and escalates appropriately with recommendations for mitigation.
  • Supports the coordination of stabilization and standardisation efforts across the program, including development of service tiers and delivery models.
  • Leads the development and coordinates implementation of a single intake pathway and centralised client/order registry to improve tracking, accessibility, and reporting.
  • Reviews current workflows and supports the development of standardised processes, tools, and documentation to reduce variability and reliance on informal practices.
  • Recommends redefined roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities across the program and support the development of orientation and training resources to support consistent onboarding and execution.
  • Supports collaboration with Finance and operational teams to align cost and revenue flows, contributing to pricing strategies, forecasting, and financial transparency.
