Live In Support Worker – Newcastle upon Tyne

Our client leads an active lifestyle, and you must have a full clean UK driver’s licence to drive the client’s vehicle.

Within the Care in the Home division, we support clients with spinal cord injury to live independently in their own homes.

You will support one male client with a spinal cord injury, residing at home with his mother and dog. The client enjoys gardening, sports, films, dining out, fishing and travel and values meaningful conversation. Previous experience supporting people with spinal cord injuries is desirable but not required.

• Supporting the male client with a spinal cord injury in his own home.
• Moving into the client’s home during assignments and providing support with personal care, including washing, dressing and toileting.
• Providing moving and handling support.
• Airway management, including cough assist, nebuliser and Airvo humidification.
• Blood glucose monitoring and insulin administration.
• Domestic tasks.
• Social and community activities.

• Regular assignments with this client.
• Assignment length: 2 weeks at a time.

• Kind and caring nature.
• Flexibility & reliability – continuity of care is imperative for our clients.
• Good communication skills.
• A full UK driving licence, as the client requires support with driving and accessing the community.
• Previous experience supporting individuals with spinal cord injuries would be advantageous, although full training will be provided to the right candidate.

• £150 – £168 per day (depending on UK experience and qualifications)
