We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated midwives to join our Midwifery team on a fixed term basis to support our Maternity Services across Dumfries and Galloway. Our inpatient service is a consultant led maternity unit with approximately 1000 births per year. The Birthing Suite has 6 en-suite bedrooms with various equipment to support mobilisation during labour, 2 with birthing pools and the Maternity ward.
The Maternity ward consists of 12 en-suite bedrooms with home comforts. The team pride themselves on delivering family centred, evidence based antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care to all families that access our service. The inpatient area delivers care 24 hours a day on a shift basis, these are either 12 or 6 hours in length. Our community midwifery service works in teams based in community hubs across the region and also supports a region wide home birth service.
There are positions available in both inpatient and community services / hybrid working with various hours available from 24 hrs up to 36hrs - posts are fixed term for 9 months.
