The role:This is an excellent opportunity to join the West Dunbartonshire Learning Disability Service as an Assistant Psychologist. Working under the supervision of a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, you will support the delivery of psychological assessments and interventions for adults with learning disabilities. The role offers experience in direct therapeutic work, neuropsychological assessment, multidisciplinary working, and service development activities, including audit and evaluation, within a supportive and specialist clinical team.
All other roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:Permanent, Part-time
Shift pattern - 28.8 hours across Monday

- Clydebank Health and Care Centre
- Support and enhance psychological care for clients within the service.
- Conduct psychological assessments and interventions under clinical supervision.
- Deliver therapeutic work on an individual basis and within wider systems.
- Administer and score standardised neuropsychological tests.
- Prepare materials for therapy sessions.
- Assist in delivering a range of psychological therapies, including potential domiciliary visits.
- Attend case conferences and liaise with other professionals.
- Contribute to audits and service evaluations.
- Support the work of qualified Clinical Psychologists and other professionals within the multidisciplinary team.
Essential Qualifications
- First Class or Upper Second Class Honours Degree in Psychology.
- Eligibility for Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS).

- Principal Clinical Psychologists
- Assistant Psychologists
- Trainee Clinical Psychologists from the West Scotland DClinPsy Programme

- Speech and Language Therapy
- Occupational Therapy
- Physiotherapy
- Dietetics
This role provides valuable experience in psychological assessment, therapeutic interventions, multidisciplinary working, audit, and service evaluation within a Learning Disabilities service.
