Specialist Physiotherapist - RES team

This post will be based within the Rehabilitation & Enablement Team (RES Team) which is located within the Inverclyde Centre for Independent Living (ICIL), Gibshill Road, Greenock and presents as an excellent opportunity for a permanent full-time position for a suitably experienced Physiotherapist.

The post holder will work as part of an established multidisciplinary team within an integrated Health and Social Care Partnership providing specialist physiotherapy assessment and treatment to adults aged 16+ with a physical disability. The post holder will assist in the triage of clients referred through the single point of access (SPOA) and cover a varied caseload with a mix of rehabilitation, prevention of admission, post-surgical, hospital discharges and will work closely with our community partners across a range of settings such as Nursing Homes, Supported Accommodation, and domiciliary.

The post-holder will have the opportunity to contribute to developing innovative models of care in the community such as pre-falls education and pre-frailty initiatives, working with patients in their own homes or within homely community settings.

Shift pattern for this post is 5 over 7 including weekends and public holidays, as part of the Out of Hours period. You must have a diploma/degree in Physiotherapy & current registration with the HCPC. Previous experience of working in the community is desirable & a driving licence is essential.

All other roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.

• Shift pattern for this post are working five out of seven days a week.

• Provide specialist Physiotherapy assessment, diagnosis and effective treatment at an advanced level to patient/clients with complex disability where clinical opinion is often conflicting.
• Working as a key member of a team, prevent hospital admission by rehabilitation intervention to clients who have experienced functional loss,
• Implement integrated team approach through Scottish Government/Inverclyde Health and Social Care Partnership policies including Falls Strategy to the adult population of Inverclyde
• Plan specialist treatment programmes where multiple pathology is common, regularly reviewing and modifying interventions and formulating discharge and follow-up arrangements, including referral to other disciplines.
• Provide specialist guidance, advice and practical support for clients, carers and family based on advanced theoretical knowledge and skill.
• Maintain clinical records and statistical activity reports in accordance with local policy, professional standards and legal requirement.
• Conduct clinical risk assessment, identify control measures and monitor these to minimise accidents or incidents.
• Complete appropriate paperwork to ensure patient/client/carer and clinician safety and improve patient/client care.
• Liaise with the multidisciplinary team in sharing knowledge and treatment approaches that enhance holistic patient/client care.
• Advise line managers regarding service issues and contribute, in conjunction with other senior clinical staff, toward the development of policy and community services.
• Monitor physiotherapy supplies, advise when stock needs replenished and ensure all equipment and supplies are “fit for purpose” and that staff & patients are informed regarding safe use.
