Neurology Clinical Educator - Institute of Neurological Sciences

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Clinical Educator within Neurology, based at the Institute of Neurosciences in Glasgow. This role provides an opportunity to lead on staff education, professional development and practice improvement within the specialist field of Neurology across both inpatient and outpatient settings.

You will support a holistic approach to care and education for individuals and families living with long-term neurological conditions, helping to enhance staff knowledge, confidence and clinical practice. The role will involve working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the delivery of safe, effective and evidence-based care.

All roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.

• This is a permanent post.
• You will work full-time hours (36) Monday Friday; this may alter if expert support is required in clinical areas
• The post is based within Neurology at the Institute of Neurosciences, Queen Elizabeth University Hospital

You will lead on the development and delivery of education programmes to support the learning needs of new and existing staff, students and primary care professionals involved in the care of patients with long-term neurological conditions. You will support the implementation of new drug therapies in line with evidence-based practice, contributing to the safe and effective update of clinical protocols and pathways.

Working closely with the Lead Nurse and Senior Charge Nurses, you will promote evidence-based practice, support staff to maintain specialist knowledge and meet mandatory training requirements. You will play a key role in identifying, developing and implementing quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes, enhance patient safety and support strategic priorities. You will also contribute to the development of Scotland-wide education solutions that support service improvement, risk management and person-centred care.

• First level Registered Nurse with current professional registration.
• Experience working within a clinical environment.
• Willingness and commitment to develop skills within the Clinical Educator role.
• Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
• Ability to support and influence practice development and education.

• Experience with in neurology, neuro medicine or neurosciences.
• Previous experience within a clinical educator role.li>
• Experience of leadership and quality improvement initiatives.
• Knowledge of evidence-based practice and service improvement methodologies.
