An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Pathway Design Lead to support delivery of the Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Rutland Obesity Pathway Innovation Programme (OPIP). This role will work alongside two project managers, be supported by a Project Support Officer and overseen by the Programme Lead.

OPIP is a high profile nationally funded programme that brings together a whole pathway approach to the improvement of obesity care for local people – from early intervention in neighbourhoods through to highly specialist support. As part of testing of an innovative new model of service commissioning, delivery and improvement.

This post is offered on a fixed term/secondment basis until 30 April 2029.

Key responsibilities of this role:

1. Agree and communicate the detail of the pathway with clinical, non-clinical and lived experience stakeholders.

2. Ensure pathway design meets all necessary compliance standards whilst offering a sustainable service model longer term.

3. Ensure that all IM&T products, contractual documentation, and communication and training materials reflect the agreed pathway design and enable commissioning, procurement and delivery of impactful services.

4. Support service providers to mobilise and deliver their elements of the pathway in a timely manner.

5. Support performance management of contracted services.

6. Advise the OPIP leadership team on pathway design and risk management.

7. Realise the full potential of opportunities for collaboration across LNR and within the national OPIP community of practice.

8. Direct, design and implement delivery of allocated projects, ensure delivery of the outcomes set out in the project and identify any current or future resources.

9. Support the development of rigorous evaluation and performance monitoring throughout planning and implementation.

10. Work in partnership with appropriate governance arrangements for the project.

11. Flexibly respond to emerging risks or issues by reporting and planning with supervisor.

12. Make recommendations on future work and associated resource requirements.

To ensure all contractual, educational, IM&T and communication products align to the pathway design and enable service delivery that meets the requirements of the programme.

To report to the OPIP management group and its sub-groups regularly and complete high quality and timely reports to other forums as required.

Critically evaluate and interpret evidence-based practice, making informed judgments about their implications for changing/developing services and clinical practice.
