Job Title: MSK Physiotherapist - Occupational Health
Location: Crewe, CW1
Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum
Contract Type: FTC - 16 Months
Hours: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday

Role SummaryYou will be based full-time onsite (08:30–16:30) at an automobile manufacturing company in Crewe, providing onsite rehabilitation and treatment service, , case management, and ergonomic assessments. Working from a dedicated onsite clinic, you will assess and treat employees with musculoskeletal conditions, manage cases, and carry out workplace assessments to help support employee health and wellbeing. Please note that this contract is due to go live in November 2026.
If your start date is before this, you will likely work from home initially, completing training and supporting the service with case management activities until the onsite service begins.
Occupational Health Physiotherapy focuses on the relationship between health and work, with the aim of identifying and addressing barriers that may impact an individual's ability to remain in or return to work.
In this role, you will use your core clinical skills to assess, diagnose, and manage patients in line with NICE guidelines, HCPC standards, and CSP best practice. A biopsychosocial approach underpins all assessments, supported by strong clinical reasoning, use of flag systems, and validated outcome measures to guide diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment planning.
You will carry out initial assessments (remote and face-to-face), deliver evidence-based interventions, and support individuals through self-management and exercise-based rehabilitation. Hands-on treatment is not always required, with a greater focus on education, movement, and practical strategies to support long-term recovery.
The role also involves producing clear reports for employers, providing advice on functional capacity and workplace adjustments, while ensuring transparency as employees have access to this information. Where treatment is needed, it is typically short-term, with regular reviews to monitor progress and outcomes.
Main Duties And Responsibilities- Provide accurate, detailed, and appropriate assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to employees on a remote or face-to-face basis.
- Identify, assess, and advise on any workplace hazards or contributing factors to Musculoskeletal disorders.
- Conduct workplace assessments such as DSE or work-based tasks as and when required and provide advice and recommendations as appropriate.
- Always maintain clinical objectivity and impartiality in line with occupational health guidance.
- Deliver effective evidence-based rehabilitation that adheres to national clinical standards.
- Utilise a bio-psychosocial approach combined with functional assessment to address barriers to work and inform robust work recommendations.
The Role
- Clinical Physiotherapy Qualification.
- Minimum of 18 months experience post registration in the UK
- Full Member of the CSP & Registered member of HCPC is essential..
- Previous experience or an interest in Occupational Health Physiotherapy.
- Strong MSK experience
- Driver license & access to a vehicle.
