We are recruiting a Care Assistant at Caerphilly County Borough Council.
Working hours: 1 x 14 hours / 1 x 21 hours
Contract Type: 1 x Permanent / 1 x Fixed Term until 27/02/2027
Location: Brodawel Residential Home, Caerphilly
Team: Adult Services

Brodawel Residential Home is looking for 2 x Care Assistants to provide care and support for older adults living with a dementia. You will be required to carry out duties to support residents in a dignified and respectful manner, promoting independence and wellbeing and adopt a person-centred approach.
Experience of working with older people would be beneficial although not essential. You must have knowledge of the principles that underpin quality care, e.g., dignity and choice. You must have ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, possess a clear understanding of the sensitive and confidential nature of the post, and be courteous and responsive to the needs of individuals.
Rota patterns of work are over a 7-day period. Approximate shift times are 7-2.30pm & 2.30-10pm. There will be opportunities to work additional hours.
For the role, we ask that you have:
- A willingness to achieve a Level 2 or 3 qualification in Health and Social Care within an agreed timescale.
- Knowledge of person-centred care.
- The ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and a comprehensive screening process will be undertaken on all successful applicants. This will include an enhanced check with the Disclosure and Barring Service.
The Social Care Wales (Registration) Rules 2023 set out the requirement for all residential childcare workers, domiciliary care workers, adult care home workers, residential family centre workers to be registered with Social Care Wales within six months from your start date in post.
