Specialist Dietitian - Older Adult, Stroke & Rehabilitation

Are you a motivated Dietitian looking to develop your specialist practice within Older Adult, Stroke and Rehabilitation services? NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde has an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Dietitian to join our supportive and experienced Acute Dietetics team. Working across a diverse and rewarding caseload, you will play a key role in delivering evidence-based nutritional care to patients with complex needs while supporting service development and clinical excellence.

All roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.

• Full Time, Fixed Term for 1 year
• You will be based at The Queen Elizabeth University Hospital
• Working Pattern: 5 days over 7

• Provide specialist nutritional assessment, diagnosis and management for patients within Older Adult, Stroke and Rehabilitation services
• Develop, implement and evaluate individualised nutritional care plans for patients with complex clinical needs
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support patient recovery, rehabilitation and safe discharge planning
• Lead and contribute to service development, clinical governance, audit and quality improvement activities
• Support, supervise and develop Dietetic Support Workers, rotational Dietitians and dietetic students
• Develop and deliver education and training programmes for dietetic colleagues, healthcare staff, patients and carers
• Contribute to the development of clinical guidelines, standards and evidence-based practice within the speciality

• Degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council
• Relevant postgraduate training, significant specialist experience or equivalent advanced professional development
• Experience working within a specialist clinical setting and managing patients with complex nutritional needs
• Experience contributing to audit, quality improvement, service evaluation or practice development initiatives
• Ability to supervise, support and develop colleagues, students and wider team members
• Excellent communication, counselling and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills with a commitment to delivering evidence-based patient-centred care
