Medylex: Providing Independent Medical Examination (IME) administrative and support services to physicians across Canada.

Currently looking for naturopaths in the Greater Toronto Area, Ontario (and nearby surrounding areas) to join our team as a Medical Intake Assistant.

About the Role

This unique opportunity allows you to apply your clinical knowledge and assessment skills in a medico-legal environment while working alongside a multidisciplinary team of medical specialists, including physiatrists, neurologists, psychiatrists, general practitioners, rheumatologists, and other health-care professionals.

As part of the Medylex team, you will gain exposure to complex medical cases, independent medical examinations, impairment assessments, and disability evaluations. You will work directly with specialists, providing clinical and administrative support while developing valuable experience in the medico-legal and insurance sectors.

This role is ideal for naturopaths looking to expand their professional experience, earn additional income, and gain exposure to a specialized area of health care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Medical chart indexing.
  • Assisting medical specialists as an IME assessment observer, chaperone, scribe, and note-taker.
  • Transcribing physician dictations.
  • Quality assurance review of medical reports and liaising with specialists.
  • 70% Remote:
    File review, organization, and transcription can be completed independently from home/office.
  • 30% In-Person:
    Attendance at clinic locations throughout the Greater Toronto Area and surrounding areas is required to support medical specialists during assessments.
Time Commitment
  • Flexible working hours.
  • Part-time and full-time independent contractor positions available.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Strong communication skills and confidence in interacting with medical specialists
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Word
  • Must have transportation within the GTA and surrounding areas (including Toronto, North York, Oshawa, Guelph, Barrie, Mississauga, Hamilton, St. Catharines). Travel outside of the GTA is compensated.
  • Previous experience collaborating with health-care professionals is an asset.
