Job overviewThe Cambridge Clinical Trials Unit
- Cancer Theme (CCTU-CT) is hosted by Cambridge University Hospitals (CUH) NHS Foundation Trust, which includes Addenbrooke’s Hospital and is part of the Cambridge Cancer Centre, a partnership between Cancer Research UK, CUH and the University of Cambridge. As the Cancer Theme of the Cambridge Clinical Trials Unit,we work with investigators to design, set up, conduct, analyse and publish cancer research studies sponsored by Cambridge University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Clinical Trials Data Specialist to be part of the cancer clinical trials team, which is part of the accredited Cambridge Clinical Trials Unit, to contribute to cancer research.
We are looking for motivated candidates with demonstrable experience of clinical trials data management in an NHS Trust, University, pharmaceutical company or CRO with exceptional attention to detail and experience of data capture tool/eCRF design . In this role, you will be expected to work closely with coordinators, statisticians and programmers and to liaise with medical staff involved in oncology trials.
Mainduties of the job
You will have primary responsibility for leading data management activities for allocated trials from set-up through to database lock, ensuring databases and documentation are delivered on time and in line with regulatory guidance and SOPs.
The data specialist will produce or oversee database and CRF Design and amendment specifications, testing and ensuring databases are fit for purpose.
The successful candidate will work with a multidisciplinary team of coordinators, programmers, statisticians and other data managers to deliver all aspects of the data management project from set-up through to database lock and close in line with agreed timelines.
The data specialist will actively participate in and lead allocated quality and improvement initiatives related to data management including writing, reviewing and updating SOPs, guidance, training materials and other documentation.
The role will involve training of new data managers and providing guidance to members of staff of all levels who not familiar with data management principles. The role will involve line management of less experienced data managers.
We would particularly welcome candidates with experience of REDCap and/or MACRO.
Please note that this role cannot be performed fully remotely. The successful post holder will be expected to attend our offices in Cambridge at least 1-2 days per week or dependent on the needs of the projects
