Are you passionate about improving outcomes for children and families and making a lasting difference within your local community? NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is looking for a compassionate and motivated Health Visitor to join our Children and Families Team. In this rewarding role, you will work autonomously and collaboratively to support children from birth to school entry, promoting health, wellbeing and positive life outcomes.

You will build trusted relationships with families, provide expert public health nursing advice and play a key role in safeguarding and early intervention. All roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:
  • Part-time, Permanent
  • You will be based at Pollok Health Centre
  • Working Pattern:
    Thursday and Friday

Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part-time hours.

Key responsibilities:
  • Act as the named Health Visitor for children within your caseload from birth to school entry
  • Assess, monitor and promote the health, wellbeing and development of children and families
  • Develop, implement and review child plans in partnership with families and multi-agency professionals
  • Deliver the Universal Health Visiting Pathway and undertake developmental and wellbeing assessments
  • Identify risks and concerns relating to child wellbeing and take appropriate safeguarding or child protection action
  • Provide expert health promotion, parenting support and public health advice to families
  • Work collaboratively with health, social care, education and third-sector partners to achieve positive outcomes for children
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
  • Registered Nurse or Midwife with a post-registration qualification in Health Visiting or Public Health Nursing
  • Registered on Part 3 of the NMC Register
  • Educated to Master's level or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and experience
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, early intervention, child protection and public protection legislation
  • Experience of managing a caseload and prioritising work effectively to meet competing demands
  • Skilled in assessment, risk management and decision making within complex family situations
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multi-agency settings while championing the needs, wellbeing and safety of children and families
