Are you looking for an opportunity to use your health sector project planning and management experience to improve the health of people living in Alberta? Primary Care Alberta (PCA) is currently looking for a Health Promotion Facilitator II (HPFII) to join the Performance & Improvement (P&I) Department within Public Health, CDC & Screening (PHCDCS). The department supports integrated planning, monitoring, evaluation and reporting in partnership with population and public health programs.
Reporting to the Team Lead – Provincial Project Management, the HPFII will provide planning and project management support to teams across PHCDCS. Key activities may include development and monitoring of project charters and schedules, development of project communication materials, facilitation of working groups and project teams, building consensus among project team and key partners, evidence gathering/synthesis and development of deliverables.
In this role, you will collaborate with teams across population and public health, as well as colleagues in the P&I department. Duties will include: design and management of key PHCDCS projects in alignment with mandated priorities and action plans; completing a variety of knowledge translation projects synthesizing evidence and information from multiple sources into deliverables that meet the needs of various audiences.
Duties may also include facilitating planning processes for provincial and operational public health programs. This position is eligible for hybrid/remote work arrangements located anywhere in Alberta and a modified work week schedule. The position offers excellent professional development and networking opportunities, as it supports staff and leadership across numerous health content areas in population and public health.
As a Health Promotion Facilitator II, you will lead and coordinate health promotion, disease and injury prevention initiatives and programs using a population health promotion approach. You will identify behavioural, social, political, economic, environmental and organizational factors that promote or compromise health and recommend evidence-informed strategies to address identified priorities. You will conduct situational analyses, literature reviews, environmental scans and focus groups to make recommendations as part of an integrated program planning and evaluation process.
You will manage projects using standardized tools and techniques that are conducive or aligned with health promotion, disease and injury prevention practices.
You will collaborate with key internal and external key stakeholders in project or program planning, development, implementation, evaluation and improvement. You will facilitate community and staff engagement and build community and staff capacity around population health promotion priorities. You will evaluate the effectiveness of existing health promotion and disease prevention strategies and make recommendations.

Master's degree in Health Promotion, Public or Population Health, Health Education or a related field.
