The role:An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist to join the Clyde Stroke Service within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. This specialist role offers the chance to work with patients following stroke, supporting their rehabilitation journey from assessment through to discharge and community reintegration. You will manage a complex caseload, work autonomously within a multidisciplinary team, and contribute to service improvement and staff development.

All roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:- Part-time, Permanent
- You will be based at The Royal Alexandra Hospital
- Working Pattern: TBC
- Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part-time hours.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate occupational therapy interventions for patients with complex stroke rehabilitation needs
- Manage and prioritise a specialist caseload, ensuring effective and timely patient-centred care
- Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to support rehabilitation goals, discharge planning and ongoing patient management
- Provide supervision, support and guidance to rotational staff, support workers and students
- Contribute to clinical audit, service evaluation and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
- Deliver education, training and specialist advice to colleagues, patients, carers and external agencies
- Support the day-to-day delivery and ongoing development of the occupational therapy service within the stroke speciality
- Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Significant experience and specialist knowledge of occupational therapy practice within stroke rehabilitation
- Experience of supervising, supporting and developing staff and learners within a clinical environment
- Knowledge of clinical governance, audit, clinical effectiveness and evidence-based practice
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships with patients, families and colleagues
- Ability to work independently, exercise clinical judgement and contribute effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Strong organisational and IT skills with a current driving licence and the ability to travel as required
