About the Role
Our client is seeking a compassionate and skilled Remote Mental Health Support Officer to provide crucial emotional and psychological support to individuals in need. - Provide remote counseling and support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges.
- Develop and implement personalized mental wellness plans, including coping mechanisms and self-care strategies.
- Assess client needs and provide appropriate referrals to psychiatrists, therapists, and other specialized services.
- Offer crisis intervention and support to individuals in acute distress.
- Maintain accurate, confidential electronic records of client interactions and progress.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and community resources to ensure holistic client care.
- A Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
- Registered with a relevant professional body (e.g., HPCSA).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in mental health counseling or support.
- Proficiency in using virtual platforms for client consultations and communication.
- Strong active listening, empathy, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and provide culturally sensitive support.
