About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Drug Safety Associate to join their expanding remote team, supporting operations from Upington . This vital role focuses on the critical task of monitoring and ensuring the safety of pharmaceutical products in the market. You will be responsible for the accurate collection, assessment, and reporting of adverse events, ensuring compliance with stringent regulatory standards.
This position requires a strong understanding of pharmacovigilance principles and a commitment to patient well-being. You will collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to uphold the highest levels of drug safety and regulatory adherence, contributing to the public health through diligent safety surveillance.
- Receive, document, and assess adverse event reports from various sources, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Enter safety data into the company's safety database according to established procedures and timelines.
- Perform initial case evaluations and identify potential safety signals for further review.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of regulatory safety reports, such as individual case safety reports (ICSRs).
- Liaise with healthcare professionals, patients, and internal departments regarding safety inquiries.
- Participate in pharmacovigilance training and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Nursing, Life Sciences, or a related healthcare field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in pharmacovigilance, drug safety, or a related clinical role.
- Knowledge of basic pharmacovigilance principles and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Experience with safety databases and adverse event reporting systems is an advantage.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work methodically.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage tasks efficiently in a remote setting.
