- Reviewing inpatient medical records to validate the accuracy of assigned diagnosis and procedure codes.
- Ensuring DRG assignments are clinically supported by the available documentation.
- Identifying coding discrepancies and recommending appropriate corrections.
- Auditing coding quality while ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and regulatory standards.
- Providing constructive feedback to coding teams for continuous quality improvement.
- Maintaining audit logs and productivity records as per defined processes.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to resolve coding-related queries and clarifications.
- Adhering to organizational quality, compliance, and data confidentiality standards.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience after obtaining CCS certification in IP DRG Coding Auditing/Validation OR 2+ Years of experience with any of these certification (CPC/ CCS/CIC).
- CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) certification is mandatory with atleast 3 years ofexperince post certification.
- Strong experience in Inpatient DRG auditing, validation, or quality assurance.
- Sound knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, DRG methodology, and clinical documentation review.
- Experience with coding tools such as 3M Encoder and other coding platforms will be preferred.
- Good understanding of healthcare compliance standards including HIPAA.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Life Sciences preferred.
