Healthcare Assistant – Lung Cancer Screening Programme

Location: Surrey, Sussex & Frimley – This is a mobile role covering sites as far as Farnborough, Aldershot, Dorking, Burgess Hill, Eastbourne, Hastings, Brighton, Rye, Chichester & Slough
Travel: Full UK Driving Licence Required
Shifts: 12-hour patterns, 3 days a week (8am–8pm), including weekends and bank holidays

As a Healthcare Assistant (HCA), you’ll play a key role in delivering a professional, compassionate, and patient-focused experience across our mobile screening sites in South East.

• Welcome patients and guide them through their screening journey with empathy and professionalism
• Support clinical colleagues in delivering high-quality care in a fast-paced, mobile environment
• Assist with patient handovers between screening and CT scan locations
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure data confidentiality
• Help manage clinic flow, support scheduling, and respond to patient queries
• Uphold high standards of cleanliness, safety, and infection control
• Contribute to a 7-day service, including bank holidays, with occasional remote admin work

• Experience in a patient or customer-facing role
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Confidence using Microsoft Office and patient management systems
• A flexible, team-oriented approach with the ability to adapt to changing priorities
• A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across sites

• A calm, compassionate, and professional manner
• A proactive attitude and the ability to work well under pressure
• A commitment to maintaining patient dignity, privacy, and safety
• An understanding of data protection and confidentiality (GDPR

Note that this payment is not applicable to clinical staff working within the Echocardiography division, or Diabetic Eye Screening. The Weekend Payment does not apply to those on a flexible working agreement and part time workers that have requested to work weekend hours/days as part of their working agreement.

The Weekend Payment also doesn’t apply to those who are working remotely or carrying out administrative work from home.
