Senior Medical Science Liaison; Pharmaceuticals

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and scientifically adept Senior Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to cover the prestigious Sandton territory. This pivotal role serves as the primary scientific and clinical resource for key opinion leaders (KOLs) and healthcare professionals (HCPs) in their therapeutic areas of focus. You will be responsible for fostering peer-to-peer scientific exchange, presenting complex clinical data, and gathering valuable insights to inform the company's research and development strategies.

This hybrid role requires extensive travel within the designated territory, complemented by remote work for reporting and strategic planning.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with leading KOLs and HCPs in assigned therapeutic areas.
• Deliver scientific and clinical information regarding company products, including data from clinical trials and publications, in a non-promotional manner.
• Gather insights from KOLs and HCPs regarding treatment landscape, unmet medical needs, and scientific trends.
• Support the planning and execution of clinical trial activities, including investigator-initiated studies (IIS).
• Provide scientific support for medical education programs, advisory boards, and scientific congresses.
• Collaborate internally with Medical Affairs, R&D, and Commercial teams to ensure alignment of scientific strategies.
• Ensure compliance with all industry regulations, company policies, and ethical standards.

• Advanced degree (Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent) in a relevant life science discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Medical Science Liaison or in a related medical affairs role within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Deep scientific expertise in specific therapeutic areas (e.g., oncology, cardiology, neurology).
• Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with KOLs and build scientific credibility.
• Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong understanding of clinical trial design and interpretation of complex scientific data.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively within the Sandton territory and beyond.
