About the Role
Our client is seeking a dynamic and scientifically adept Medical Science Liaison (MSL) specializing in Oncology to cover the Pretoria region. In this vital role, you will serve as the scientific and medical expert for our client's oncology portfolio, building strong relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals, and research institutions. Your primary focus will be on disseminating complex scientific information, gathering insights from the field, and supporting clinical research initiatives.
This hybrid role requires significant travel within the territory, balanced with remote work for planning and reporting, offering a challenging and rewarding career path in a rapidly evolving therapeutic area.
- Engage with KOLs and healthcare providers to discuss scientific and clinical data related to oncology products.
- Respond to unsolicited medical information requests from healthcare professionals.
- Identify and support potential clinical trial investigators and research collaborations.
- Gather insights on treatment landscapes, unmet medical needs, and competitive intelligence from the field.
- Present scientific data at medical congresses and local/regional meetings.
- Contribute to the development of regional medical strategies and therapeutic area plans.
- Advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) in a relevant life sciences discipline.
- Demonstrated experience as a Medical Science Liaison or in a similar field medical role.
- Strong scientific background and expertise in oncology and related therapeutic areas.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel extensively within the designated territory (approximately 60-70%).
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the medical community.
