Hygiene Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an observant and proactive Hygiene Officer to enhance their sanitation standards in Cape Town . This role is pivotal in ensuring that all operational areas meet and exceed regulatory hygiene requirements, contributing to the well-being of the workforce and the integrity of the client's services. You will play a key role in developing, implementing, and monitoring hygiene protocols, conducting regular audits, and providing training to staff.

This hybrid role offers a blend of site-based inspections and remote administrative work within the vibrant Western Cape region.

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive hygiene and sanitation programs across all company sites.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections of facilities, equipment, and processes to ensure compliance with health regulations.
• Investigate hygiene-related complaints or incidents and implement corrective actions promptly.
• Provide training to staff on proper hygiene practices, waste management, and the safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, training, and corrective actions taken.
  
  Collaborate with management to ensure adequate stock of cleaning supplies and consumables.

• Previous experience as a Hygiene Officer , Sanitation Supervisor, or similar role in a regulated environment.
• Strong understanding of food safety, occupational health, and environmental regulations relevant to sanitation .
• Excellent observational skills and a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to conduct effective training sessions and communicate hygiene standards clearly.
• Proficiency in using standard office software for reporting and record-keeping.
• Certification in a relevant hygiene or food safety course is advantageous.
