Support Worker, Direct Support Professional​/ Direct Care

this isn't a boring job you'll be changing lives with care, supporting day-to-day living and joining in with activities like bowling, swimming, walks, and community outings.

you don't need prior experience to join as a support worker.

we provide all the training you'll need, along with ongoing support to help you build a career in care., we are looking for caring, patient and reliable support workers to join a dedicated team providing 24-hour support to two individuals with complex support needs.

the individuals we support have diagnoses including complex learning disabilities, epilepsy, mobility impairments and cerebral palsy.

as a support worker, you will provide person-centred support, helping the individuals we support to live as independently as possible while ensuring their safety, dignity and wellbeing at all times.

the role requires:

• o empathy and patience building positive, trusting relationships and providing consistent support.
• o personal care supporting individuals with their personal care needs in a respectful and dignified manner.
• o promoting independence encouraging and supporting individuals to make choices, develop skills and maintain as much independence as possible.
• o the ability to work as part of a team and follow individual support plans and guidance.
• o a calm and understanding approach when supporting individuals with complex needs.

the service operates on a 24-hour basis, with the following shifts available:

• o morning: 08:00 15:00
• o evening: 15:00 22:00
• o waking night: 22:00 09:00
• o sleep-in: 22:00 08:00

a full uk automatic driving licence is essential for this role.

nb: this role is not eligible for skilled worker visa sponsorship under current uk home office rules, as it does not meet the required salary or skill level criteria.

whilst we encourage applications to other roles, candidates who already have a valid right to work in the uk through other immigration routes or permissions must meet the minimum eligibility of having at least two years remaining on your current visa.
