Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Psychologist (PSS-CFRP/PSG)
What the role is:

The Psychological and Social Services (PSS) provides specialised psychological services to children, youth and families in the areas of abuse and trauma recovery, family resilience and parenting, and forensic mental health.

The Centre for Family Resilience and Parenting (CFRP) works to strengthen parenting and family relationships so that children can grow up in safer, more stable, and supportive family environments. We work with families both preventatively and where significant parenting difficulties or relational ruptures have already occurred.

Through targeted parenting and family interventions, we work with caregivers, children and families to strengthen parenting capacity, improve family functioning, and build or repair parent-child and family relationships. Our work aims to support meaningful and sustainable changes in caregiving and family relationships, while reducing the risk of difficulties recurring or escalating.

As a specialist centre for parenting and family-focused psychological practice, CFRP contributes to advancing evidence-informed interventions, strengthening clinical practice and building capability across the wider child and family service system.

What you will be working on:

As a Psychologist in CFRP, you will provide psychological assessments and evidence-informed interventions for individuals and families. Clients may have significant and multifaceted needs, including trauma, abuse and forensic mental health concerns and come from at-risk populations or be involved with the Rehabilitation and Protection systems within MSF.This role involves direct clinical work with caregivers, children and families, including home-based sessions, and requires flexibility to work outside conventional hours to accommodate families' schedules and availability.

Ongoing clinical training and supervision will be provided, including training in evidence-informed parenting interventions and family therapy approaches, to support your professional development and ensure effective service delivery.

Beyond direct clinical work, you will have opportunities to contribute to clinical programme development and evaluation, consultation, practice development and capability-building in parenting and family-focused work.

What we are looking for:
  • Provide psychological assessments and evidence-informed interventions, including parenting and family therapy, to caregivers, children and families.
  • Conduct trainings and consultation services to internal and external partners, including social service agencies
  • Work with MSF colleagues and social service partners to deliver coordinated and family-centred clinical services
  • Contribute to clinical programme development, capability-building initiatives and evaluation projects.
