Assistant Psychologist (Band 4-5 Equivalent)
We are excited to recruit an Assistant Psychologist or Higher Assistant Psychologist to join our friendly and supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about working with children, young people and families, and who is looking to develop their clinical skills within a specialist psychology service. We offer high-quality supervision and a strong commitment to professional development, allowing you to build your experience while making a genuine difference to the lives of those we support.
Due to the high volume of interest, we will close to new applicants on 1 July 2026.
If you have already been contacted and invited to complete an application form, please submit your completed form by Friday 3 July 2026.
Join a friendly, highly skilled team of Clinical Psychologists, Psychological Therapists and Assistant Psychologists, where you'll gain invaluable experience supporting children, young people and families with a wide range of emotional, behavioural and neurodevelopmental needs. Working under the supervision of experienced clinicians, you'll contribute to psychological assessments, interventions, consultations, research, training and service development across adoption, fostering, kinship care, residential care, schools and wider children's services.
This is a genuinely varied role, offering exceptional clinical supervision, extensive training opportunities and the chance to develop the knowledge, skills and experience needed for a rewarding career in psychology.
Alongside your direct clinical work, you'll have opportunities to contribute to research, service development, training and the creation of therapeutic resources, developing a broad range of skills that will support your future career. We actively encourage our Assistant Psychologists to build on their strengths, develop areas of interest and gain experience across assessment, consultation, intervention and evaluation under the guidance of experienced clinicians.
You'll join a friendly, collaborative team that is passionate about delivering high-quality, relationship-based support to children, young people and families, with excellent clinical supervision and genuine opportunities for professional growth.
Experience working with children, young people and families is highly desirable, particularly within adoption, fostering, kinship care, residential care or education. We're keen to hear from applicants with strong psychometric scoring, analytical and Microsoft Excel skills, alongside an interest in trauma-informed practice. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your clinical skills in a supportive and collaborative environment while making a meaningful difference to the lives of vulnerable children, young people and families.
