Position: Reimbursement Specialist, Bilingual (12-month Contract) - Canada (Remote)

Job Summary

** This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on people living with diabetes by serving as a critical link between patients, healthcare providers, insurance companies, and Insulet’s commercial teams. As a Reimbursement Specialist, you'll guide customers through the insurance and reimbursement process, helping remove barriers to access for the Omnipod® system while delivering an exceptional patient experience. The role combines healthcare knowledge, customer advocacy, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration, allowing you to work closely with Sales, Case Management, Billing, and payers across Canada.

As a Reimbursement Specialist, you will serve as a trusted resource for patients, healthcare providers, insurance payers, and internal teams, guiding customers through the reimbursement and prior authorization process from start to finish. The ideal candidate must demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a key cross-functional role with internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, this position requires a high degree of customer interaction and communication to ensure the patient experience is positive and professional.
Responsibilities:

  • Understand Insulet insurance contracts, channeling and processing requirements for all covered products.
  • Process all aspects of reimbursement by contacting payors, verifying insurance benefits and adhering to medical guidelines for reimbursement.
  • Submission of all prior authorization requests for approval and payment of Insulet products at time of claim processing.
  • Calculate and document cost share amounts for potential customers, both for our English-speaking customers as well as our French-speaking customers.
  • Collaborate with other commercial teams such as Case Management, Omni Pod Sales and Billing, to ensure proactive communication of potential customer’s order status.
  • Document all interactions and calls into the customer database and maintain compliance to HIPAA and other regulating bodies as required.
  • Provide frequent feedback and suggestions to support an environment of continuous process improvement.
  • Performs other duties as required.



Education and Experience :

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associates Degree

Preferred Skills

  • Bilingual skills, being proficient in both English and French is strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 2-4 years’ medical device, pharmaceutical, healthcare or consumer product related field preferred.
