About the Role: Our Community Support Services is looking for a passionate and dedicated Child & Adolescent Clinician to join our team in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate is proficient in the Child and Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale (CAFAS) and comfortable using functional assessment data to guide treatment planning and measure progress.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive intake assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and CAFAS administrations at intake, at required review intervals, and at discharge.
- Develop individualized, strengths-based treatment plans informed by CAFAS scores and family input.
- Provide individual, family, and group therapy using evidence-based practices (e.g., TF-CBT, CBT, Motivational Interviewing).
- Coordinate care with schools, pediatricians, Child and Family Services Agency (CFSA), courts, and other community partners.
- Complete timely, accurate clinical documentation in accordance with DC Department of Behavioral Health (DBH) and Medicaid requirements.
- Provide crisis assessment and intervention as needed.
- Participate in clinical supervision, case reviews, and team meetings.
- Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field.
- Active, unrestricted license to practice in the District of Columbia (LICSW, LGSW, LPC, LGPC, LMFT, or Licensed Psychologist).
- Demonstrated proficiency with the CAFAS
, including administration, scoring, and use in treatment planning (current CAFAS certification/rater reliability strongly preferred). - Minimum of [1–2] years of clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and families.
- Knowledge of child development, trauma, and common childhood mental health diagnoses.
- Ability to pass required background checks, including a child protection registry check.
- Experience with the PECFAS (Preschool and Early Childhood Functional Assessment Scale).
- Familiarity with DC DBH systems, MHRS standards, and Medicaid documentation requirements.
- Training in trauma-focused, evidence-based models.
- Bilingual (Spanish, Amharic, or other languages spoken in DC communities).
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for community-based visits.
