Remote Sports Psychologist

Our client is seeking a compassionate and skilled Remote Sports Psychologist to provide mental performance coaching and support to athletes across various disciplines, operating from Paarl, Western Cape. This role is instrumental in helping athletes overcome mental barriers, enhance focus, manage stress, and achieve peak performance. You will utilize cutting-edge virtual communication tools to deliver individual and group sessions, develop mental skills training programs, and contribute to the holistic development of athletes, making expert psychological support accessible globally, fostering resilience and confidence.

• Conduct virtual assessments of athletes' mental strengths and areas for development, including focus, confidence, and emotional regulation.
• Develop and implement individualized mental skills training programs tailored to the specific needs and goals of each athlete.
• Provide virtual counseling and support to help athletes manage performance anxiety, stress, motivation challenges, and other psychological factors impacting performance.
• Educate athletes and coaches on topics such as goal setting, visualization, mindfulness, and effective coping strategies.
• Collaborate with coaches, sports scientists, and other support staff to integrate mental performance strategies into overall training plans.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and ethical standards in all client interactions.

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Sport Psychology, Psychology, or a related field.
• Relevant professional certifications or licensure (e.g., Certified Mental Performance Consultant - CMPC).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working directly with athletes in a sports psychology capacity.
• Demonstrated expertise in performance enhancement techniques and mental skills training.
• Excellent virtual communication, active listening, and empathy skills.
• Proficiency with video conferencing platforms and secure client data management systems.
