Community Health Worker - Maternal Health

Our client is seeking a dedicated Community Health Worker with a specialization in Maternal Health to join their team in Richards Bay . This critical role involves promoting healthy pregnancies, supporting new mothers, and educating the community on crucial maternal and child health practices. You will be a vital link between healthcare services and the community, ensuring access to prenatal care, postnatal support, and family planning resources.

This position offers a unique opportunity to significantly improve health outcomes for mothers and infants in the Kwa Zulu-Natal region.

• Conduct outreach within the community to identify pregnant individuals and new mothers needing support.
• Provide education on prenatal care, nutrition, childbirth, breastfeeding, and infant care.
• Assist clients in accessing essential healthcare services, including clinic appointments and antenatal screenings.
• Monitor the health and well-being of mothers and infants, referring concerns to healthcare professionals.
• Organize and facilitate community health workshops and support groups related to maternal and child health.

• Previous experience as a Community Health Worker or in a related healthcare support role.
• Knowledge of maternal and child health principles and local health services.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective community engagement.
