Purpose Statement/Position SummaryThe Psychotherapist II provides psychotherapeutic services for a caseload of patients with acutely complex needs. The Psychotherapist II will provide home-based mental health intervention for children ages 0-3 and their families, with priority given to referrals for infants who are returning home following hospitalization. Responsible for assessment, treatment planning and provision of psychotherapeutic services to a defined caseload of patients and may also support the facilitation of groups.
Employs evidence-based psychological treatment interventions and provides case management services as needed. This position works with other team members to support access to overall services. This position is also responsible for supporting partnerships designed to enhance the availability of services care at CHLA and at external partners. This position will be primarily home-based with some option for clinic or telehealth services.
Minimum Qualifications /Work Experience
- 2+ years of clinical experience with children, adolescents, young adults, and/or their families/caregivers.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Valid CA Driver's License and proof of insurance required for positions requiring field-based services.
- Experience in health care setting.
- Experience working in health care settings and with children, adolescents, and families.
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, or Psychology with previous experience in a child, adolescent, or family mental health setting.
- Licensed by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as a Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor.
- American Heart Association BLS certification.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish.
