Remote Mental Health Support Officer

Our client is looking for a compassionate and skilled Remote Mental Health Support Officer to provide virtual support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. Operating exclusively from a remote setting, you will offer emotional support, guidance, and resource navigation to clients via phone, video calls, and online platforms. This role requires a deep understanding of mental health support principles, exceptional empathy, and the ability to maintain professional boundaries in a virtual environment.

You will be a key part of a dedicated team, committed to enhancing mental well-being across South Africa, working from the comfort of your home office.

• Provide remote, non-clinical emotional support and active listening to clients experiencing mental health difficulties.
• Assist clients in identifying coping strategies and accessing relevant mental health resources and services.
• Conduct virtual check-ins and follow-ups to monitor client well-being and engagement.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions and support provided.
• Collaborate with the clinical team and other support professionals to ensure coordinated care.

• Background in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field; previous experience in mental health support is essential.
• Strong understanding of mental health conditions, support strategies, and crisis intervention principles.
• Excellent virtual communication skills, including empathy, active listening, and clarity.
• Proficiency with virtual communication tools (e.g., Zoom, Teams) and case management software.
