Remote Mental Health Support Officer

About the Role  Our client is looking for a compassionate and skilled Remote Mental Health Support Officer to provide virtual support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. Operating exclusively from a remote setting, you will offer emotional support, guidance, and resource navigation to clients via phone, video calls, and online platforms. This role requires a deep understanding of mental health support principles, exceptional empathy, and the ability to maintain professional boundaries in a virtual environment.

You will be a key part of a dedicated team, committed to enhancing mental well-being across South Africa, working from the comfort of your home office.

Key Responsibilities   Provide remote, non-clinical emotional support and active listening to clients experiencing mental health difficulties.
Assist clients in identifying coping strategies and accessing relevant mental health resources and services.
Conduct virtual check-ins and follow-ups to monitor client well-being and engagement.
Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions and support provided.
Collaborate with the clinical team and other support professionals to ensure coordinated care.
Requirements   Background in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field; previous experience in mental health support is essential.
Strong understanding of mental health conditions, support strategies, and crisis intervention principles.
Excellent virtual communication skills, including empathy, active listening, and clarity.
Proficiency with virtual communication tools (e.g., Zoom, Teams) and case management software.
Ability to work independently, manage emotional resilience, and maintain professional conduct remotely.
