Clinical Billing Specialist - Division of Cancer Medicine

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is a leading institution focused on cancer care, research, education, and prevention. Within the Division of Cancer Medicine, this role provides clinical billing support for Melanoma Medical Oncology and Sarcoma Medical Oncology and supports other clinical departments based on divisional operational needs. The Clinical Billing Specialist supports key revenue cycle initiatives, and the Clinical Billing Specialist contributes to efficient financial operations across the Division of Cancer Medicine.

The primary purpose of the Clinical Billing Specialist, Division of Cancer Medicine (DoCM), is to provide clinical billing support with primary responsibility for Melanoma Medical Oncology and Sarcoma Medical Oncology, while supporting other DoCM clinical departments based on divisional operational needs. Responsibilities for this position will include Epic (One Connect) analysis, charge capture and reconciliation, revenue‑generating activities, billing compliance, reporting, and resolution of billing‑related issues.

The position will work closely with the Senior Financial Analyst, departmental leadership, providers, and revenue cycle partners to ensure accurate and timely charge capture and reconciliation.

The ideal candidate will have experience with Epic, professional billing, and revenue cycle operations. This role requires strong skills in charge capture, reconciliation, billing compliance, reporting, intermediate Excel, presentations, and written communication. A bachelor's degree is preferred. Candidates should have a strong professional billing background with experience reviewing charges, and prior revenue cycle experience is highly desired. Experience in medical coding and billing within a private practice or midsize healthcare setting is strongly preferred.

The successful candidate must be highly professional and able to effectively collaborate with division staff, department chairs, and other key stakeholders.
