About

the Role

The Admissions Assistant is the first voice many individuals and families hear when they reach out for help. This role plays a vital part in connecting people to life-changing treatment by providing compassionate, professional, and efficient first contact for those seeking Substance Use Disorder (SUD) services. This is a non-clinical intake position focused on gathering information, supporting callers through the first step of treatment, and ensuring a smooth transition to the clinical admissions team.

If you thrive in fast-paced environments, excel on the phone, and bring empathy to difficult conversations, this role offers meaningful, mission-driven work.

What You’ll Do

(Please note this is not an exhaustive list of responsibilities and duties)

  • Answer inbound calls, web inquiries, and referrals with professionalism and empathy
  • Complete structured, non-clinical intakes and gather demographic, treatment history, and insurance information
  • Document interactions in Salesforce and schedule clinical screenings with the Admissions team
  • Provide trauma-informed communication and clear next-step guidance to callers and families
  • Meet call metrics, ensure accurate data entry, and collaborate with clinical and admissions teams for timely follow-through
  • Participate in training and transition to remote work after meeting performance benchmarks
This role does NOT include:
  • Clinical assessments or ASAM determinations
  • Counseling or therapeutic services
  • CADC or other licensure requirements
Remote Work Requirements:

After completing onsite training and demonstrating consistent performance, employees may transition to remote work.

  • Maintain a quiet, private workspace free from distractions
  • Have reliable broadband internet capable of supporting live calls and CRM systems
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 privacy standards while working remotely

All required computer hardware and technology are provided.

What We’re Looking For
  • High school diploma or equivalent, required
  • 1–2 years of call center or high-volume phone experience, required
  • Strong typing skills and ability to document accurately during live calls, required
  • Ability to navigate multiple systems simultaneously, required
  • Strong professional discretion and confidentiality, required
  • Healthcare intake, screening, or patient access experience, preferred
  • Behavioral health or SUD treatment experience, preferred
  • Insurance verification experience, preferred
  • Ability to confidently explain program strengths and guide prospective clients toward care, preferred
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen (Serenity Lane is a Cannabis THC-free workplace)
What We Offer
  • 401k Retirement Plan
  • Education Assistance
  • Paid Time Off & Sick Pay
  • Wellness Programs
  • Work-Life Balance
  • Opportunities for growth and career advancement
  • Supportive, mission-driven team environment
  • Inclusive, respectful workplace culture
