To ensure accurate coding and data integrity, the full-time Inpatient Coder
- Remote will manage the coding and abstracting of clinical information from medical records for assigned facilities while assisting with quality reviews and training new coders.
- Accurately code and abstract patient health documentation for assigned facilities
- Review flagged cases for coding accuracy and assist in quality reviews and audits
- Participate in coding education and maintain professional coding credentials
- Associates or higher-level degree in a Health Information Management discipline
- Successful completion of at least one AHIMA certified program with a relevant professional credential preferred (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, etc.)
- 1-3 years of inpatient coding experience
- Skilled and knowledgeable in MS Office suite
- Strong technical background and experience with electronic medical records
