Join the outpatient hand therapy team at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust in a part-time, static Band 6 post based at Queen’s Hospital in Burton. We welcome applications from occupational therapists and physiotherapists. The role has developed in response to increased referrals to the service.

You must have experienceoftreatingpatients withacute handinjuries, degenerativehandconditions andfollowinghand surgery.

The team provides care for adults and children, working closely with consultants at Queen’s Hospital and hand specialists across Derby and Burton.

As part of the wider dynamic and innovative musculoskeletal and rheumatology team, you will receivetrainingandregular clinical supervision to support your development. You will alsobe encouraged to contribute to service development and clinical audit.

Manage your own caseload, planning and prioritising patient care.

Provide specialist assessment and treatment, using clinical reasoningto managearangeof hand conditions,includingdegenerative conditions and rehabilitation following surgery, fractures andtrauma.

Workcollaborativelywith the hand therapyteam,therapyadministrationteam, fracture clinic and orthopaedicmultidisciplinary team.

Provide support toBand5therapists,students andtherapyassistants.

Contribute to training and service development within the hand therapy service.
