Description

The Aspen Music Festival & School (AMFS) Concessions Manager oversees all aspects of concessions operations, during the preseason planning process and once the summer season has begun. This position leads concessions staff, manages vendor relationships, maintains inventory and point-of-sale systems, and ensures exceptional guest experience for all AMFS patrons. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing both administrative and operational tasks in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Meadows Concessions are open during all student orchestral and some specials concerts, which occur at the festival's main performance venues in Aspen, Colorado. These facilities include our 2050-seat Klein Music Tent and the 500-seat Harris Concert Hall. This position reports directly to the Director of Operations.

Responsibilities
  • Train and manage all members of the food and beverage team, outlining duties, hospitality rules, and service expectations, including serving food and beverage, greeting customers, and properly addressing guest conflict or misconduct and issues regarding safety of our patrons.
  • Hire, schedule, and supervise the AMFS staff food and beverage team.
  • Prepare each venue before every event and ensure concessions stands are stocked.
  • Ensure all concessions stands are staffed and set up at the proper time.
  • Coordinate with the Front of House and Venue Operations Manager to forecast high-traffic events and ensure proper staffing.
  • Address all issues that arise related to food and beverage in a professional and service-driven manner.
  • Set up and test all point-of-sale (POS) systems for the season.
  • Develop and implement systems for inventory tracking and cash handling.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between organization and concessions vendors.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Must have food and beverage management experience, preferably within a presentation hall.
  • Must possess an outgoing demeanor with strong customer service skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with an eye for detail.
  • Candidates must be able to prioritize well and complete multiple tasks quickly, efficiently, and calmly.
  • Proficiency with POS systems and basic inventory management.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including some nights and weekends during the summer season.
  • A humble and durable sense of humor is strongly advised.
  • Familiarity with classical music and orchestral practices is a plus.
Dates

Pre-season, part-time remote work:
April 6, 2026-June 9, 2026 (20 hrs/week, 9.5 weeks. Start April 6, 2026. Prepare the POS, begin management of vendor communications, assist in hiring seasonal bartenders, and begin inventory management of the Lemonade Stand.)

Season:
June 10, 2026-August 26, 2026

Compensation

Pre-season: $30.11/hr

Season: $1,204.26/week

Benefits include AMFS season pass and paid sick time.
