Wedding & Function Catering Coordinator - Paarl

Our client is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Wedding & Function Catering Coordinator to manage and execute exceptional catering services for events in the beautiful Paarl region. This role is pivotal in ensuring that every wedding, corporate function, and private celebration is a culinary success. You will work closely with clients from the initial consultation through to the event day, ensuring their vision is brought to life with delicious food and flawless service.

This hybrid role involves on-site coordination and some remote administrative and planning tasks. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of catering operations, and a genuine passion for creating memorable experiences. • Consult with clients to understand their specific catering needs, preferences, and budget for weddings and functions.
• Develop customized menu proposals and present them to clients, incorporating seasonal offerings and dietary requirements.
• Coordinate all logistical aspects of catering for events, including staffing, equipment, setup, and teardown.
• Liaise with venue managers, florists, and other vendors to ensure seamless event coordination.
• Oversee the execution of catering services on the event day, ensuring quality, presentation, and timeliness.
• Manage catering staff during events, providing clear direction and ensuring high service standards.
• Handle client inquiries and feedback professionally and promptly.
• Maintain accurate event files, contracts, and billing information.
• Assist in managing inventory and supplies for catering events.
• Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in wedding and function catering.

• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in event coordination, catering sales, or a related hospitality role.
• Proven experience in managing weddings and functions is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client relationship management skills.
• Strong organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required by event schedules.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and familiarity with event management software is a plus.
• A passion for food, events, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
• Must be able to commute to and work on-site in and around Paarl, Western Cape .
• A tertiary qualification in Hospitality Management or Marketing is advantageous.
