Position Summary

The National Recruiter will be responsible for posting job ads, sourcing, candidate selection, interviewing, screening and hiring for all onsite and field positions in assigned regions. This role is critical in selecting candidates with strong applicable skillsets, who have long‑term growth potential and who fit seamlessly with the Weidner culture. Partnership with Weidner’s leaders is critical in understanding the positions, properties and specific hiring needs.

The position requires periodic travel to the regions and when assisting with other recruiting events. A successful National Recruiter is able to manage their time effectively, is detail oriented, a trustworthy team player, and takes pride in their work. In addition, the role needs to be accountable and attentive to provide excellent customer service skills when interacting with residents, associates and vendors.

Primary

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for all aspects of the candidate recruitment and hiring process, including screening, interviewing, evaluating and making recommendations for hire
  • Work directly with Area and Regional Directors, Administrative Staff and other department supervisors to understand the positions needed in all of our regions
  • Focus on filling current open and budgeted positions with a sense of urgency
  • Schedule and conduct in‑person interviews for selected job applicants when applicable
  • Present qualified candidates to hiring managers
  • Actively recruit passive candidates
  • Conduct job fairs when needed
  • Update the Application Tracking System daily
  • Review and screen all incoming resumes for all job openings daily
  • Conduct thorough prescreening phone interviews
  • Review electronic applications
  • Perform background checks and verify driver’s license on qualified applicants
  • Perform reference checks and verify education credentials on final candidates when needed
  • Actively participate in a positive team environment through teamwork, communication and excellence in service; communicate regularly with the Recruiting Manager / Director of Recruiting
  • Actively demonstrate the values of the Weidner Customer Service Vision to team members, associates and external customers
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2+ years of strong recruiting experience, preferable in the multi‑family industry
  • Experience working at a recruiting agency and recruiting passive candidates desired
  • Able to recruit for a high volume of requisitions per month simultaneously
  • Consistently work with a sense of urgency and multi‑task in a fast‑paced, high‑energy environment
  • Knowledge and experience with Application Tracking Systems and familiarity with social networking
  • Sharp and thorough interview skills and must be proficient in working with all levels of management
  • Multi‑family property management experience is a plus
  • Excellent organization and interpersonal communication skills
  • Detail oriented, consistently meets deadlines
  • Prioritizes finding ways to streamline processes with technology
  • Willing and able to learn new software programs
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with strong motivation to learn & contribute on a daily basis
  • Able to give professional directions clearly in person, over the phone, email, and text
  • Experienced in Microsoft products required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Follow Weidner’s Mission, Vision and Values and comply with all Weidner policies and procedures as well as all Fair Housing, local, state, and federal laws
  • Prompt, regular attendance; wear company dress code/uniform & maintain professional appearance at all times
  • Work effectively and cooperatively in a team environment and/or independently
  • Ability to work outside of normal scheduled hours as needed
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; detail oriented, well organized
  • Must agree to a criminal background check and sign an agreement for voluntary drug testing
  • Valid and current driver’s license, vehicle and vehicle insurance
  • Ability to work 5 days a week in the Kirkland Home Office when required
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
