We are seeking a senior expert to influence strategy, lead excellence, and mentor the next generation of global compliance leaders in payroll and employment compliance across multiple countries or regions.
OverviewRemote is solving global employment compliance challenges and enabling organizations to recruit, pay, and manage international teams. All Remote positions are fully remote.
What You’ll Do- Strategic audit ownership:
Lead complex audits across multiple countries or domains with 100% on-time delivery. - Compliance investigations:
Support investigations, partner with stakeholders, and embed learnings to resolve issues quickly. - Governance frameworks:
Design and implement scalable practices to elevate compliance maturity. - Strategic initiatives:
Lead global initiatives with product, engineering, and customer success to embed compliance into processes. - Policy alignment:
Ensure alignment with key compliance policies across markets. - Incident resolution:
Resolve high-priority risks and embed lessons learned. - Documentation excellence:
Maintain core compliance documentation. - Mentorship:
Coach and develop team capability over time. - Stakeholder influence:
Achieve ≥90% positive feedback from cross-functional stakeholders on compliance partnership. - Enablement & communication:
Tailor messaging and materials to audience needs; support quarterly coaching and upskilling.
- Deep expertise in payroll, employment, and tax compliance across multiple countries.
- Proven track record of leading complex audits, regulatory reviews, or cross-border programs.
- Trusted escalation point and subject-matter expert in high-risk matters.
- Strategic communicator who influences stakeholders at all levels, including product, legal, and senior leadership.
- Confident mentor with experience developing team capability through structured learning and feedback.
- Systems thinker able to scale solutions, frameworks, and documentation with clarity and impact.
- Adept at navigating ambiguity and fast-changing environments with integrity.
- Comfortable leading initiatives across async, multicultural, remote-first teams.
- Influence Remote’s global strategy for audits, frameworks, enablement, and policy alignment.
- Lead regional initiatives that scale global payroll compliance.
- Mentor and develop future leaders in the compliance team.
- Shape thought leadership through publications and conference visibility.
- Drive innovation in frameworks, automation, and knowledge systems.
Remote’s Total Rewards philosophy ensures fair compensation and benefits in all operating locations. We pay above in-location rates and aim to sponsor global talent-hiring while supporting local wealth. Salary ranges reflect role, level, and location and may change. The base salary for this role is 90,400–101,700 EUR, with final pay determined by location, experience, and business needs.
Internal mobility is supported with compensation changes reviewed case by case by the Total Rewards & People Enablement team.
