Duties & Responsibilities
- Investigate complaints of harassment, discrimination and sexual misconduct
- Receive complaints of discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct, and retaliation
- Identify university policies relevant to a complaint
- Conduct a prompt, equitable and impartial investigation of complaints of discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct, and retaliation, including identifying and interviewing parties; identifying, gathering and assessing relevant information; and assessing credibility of witnesses and information
- Maintain thoroughly documented investigative files
- Prepare thorough and accurate investigative reports
- Serve as point of contact for parties during investigative process
- Attend hearings or other proceedings, as appropriate
- Continuously identify and integrate best practices into investigative processes
- Assist Resolutions Manager in providing leadership to University on civil rights and related matters
- Remain informed on guidance, laws and regulations affecting the University’s compliance with Title IX and applicable civil rights laws
- Provide consultation and information regarding Title VI, Title VII, ADA, Title IX, Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) and other federal and state law and university policy requirements to campus stakeholders
- Assist in the development and updating of policies, programs, practices and resources needed to foster a safe and inclusive community for all students, faculty, and staff
- Cultivate collaborative relationships with faculty, staff and students
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to foster a safe and inclusive environment
- Receive and resolve requests for pregnancy and religious accommodations
- Independently receive, respond, and implement student and employee religious accommodation requests in compliance with University policies and relevant laws and regulations, as appropriate
- Independently receive, respond, and implement student pregnancy adjustment requests in compliance with University policies and applicable state and federal laws and regulations, as appropriate
- Experience communicating effectively with diverse individuals in stressful situations
- Experience with trauma-informed interview practices
- Attention to detail and accurate file documentation
- Demonstrated strong analytical skills
- Demonstrated strong writing skills
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
- Two years of relevant experience in the area of investigations, student conduct, or employment discrimination
- Experience working with civil rights laws such as Title VI, Title VII, ADA, Title IX and the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA)
- Experience working collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team

- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

- Master’s or Juris Doctor degree
- Experience conducting Title IX investigations
- Experience conducting civil rights/equity investigations in higher education
- Experience in conflict resolution
