Position: Human Resource Analyst 1

If that sounds like a good fit for you, apply for this Human Resource Analyst 1 position with the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA).

In this role, you will participate in placement work for the DMVA by serving as the Placement Specialist for three of the State Veterans Homes. As a departmental subject matter expert on recruitment and placement issues, your responsibilities will include reviewing all incoming hiring and related requests, researching and evaluating available data to develop strategies aimed to establish an optimal candidate pool, ensuring that pre‑employment requirements are met, and updating tracking reports to effectively manage the process of filing vacancies.

This includes providing guidance to hiring managers and veteran home staff to resolve any inaccuracies and ensure all requirements are met. You will also provide assistance with the selection of interview questions and criteria, participate in discussions to gather current and anticipated hiring needs, and assist with or provide training sessions for field sites regarding all aspects of the talent acquisition program.

Work Schedule and Additional Information
  • Full‑time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part‑time, up to five days per pay period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high‑speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Annville. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

Qualifications Minimum Experience and Training Requirements
  • Successful completion of the Human Resource Management Trainee program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);
    or
  • One year as a Human Resource Assistant 2 or an Equal Opportunity Assistant (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);
    or
  • One year of paraprofessional analytical experience and a bachelor’s degree;
    or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
