Our client, an established expert in health insurance, is looking for a senior organizational Effectiveness Consultant for a 5‑month contract. This is a hybrid role, with 1 day a week in the office in San Francisco and the rest working from home. They are looking for a candidate with consulting experience in the finance division of a large company.
Job DescriptionThe Senior Organizational Effectiveness Consultant serves as a key business partner to client groups and works to influence effective people practices across functions. You'll be an advocate of our client’s culture and values, partnering with our business leaders to help them build and manage their organizations. In partnership with your clients, you will be responsible for solving complex organizational challenges through people‑related solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver key HR processes and programs including people strategy, workforce planning, succession planning, engagement survey analysis & action planning, year‑end compensation planning, organization and team development, employee and leadership development.
- Establish and sustain consultative relationships as a trusted advisor with client partners, broker HR Center of Excellence services, implement HR solutions, and provide HR generalist support.
- Apply comprehensive systems thinking to drive alignment of people strategies, tactics, programs, and practices across multiple business functions.
- Model and drive change‑management mindset, serve as organization change consultant and subject‑matter expert, apply change‑management approaches to enhance stakeholder engagement and implementation of initiatives.
- Develop and deploy talent‑management and organizational effectiveness solutions to launch employee engagement and performance excellence tools and processes.
- Lead project structure, approach, and work plan for implementation of talent‑management programs; lead committees and work groups charged with implementing engagement and culture strategies.
- Provide HR program leadership and subject‑matter expertise in HR program design, development and deployment; share best practices, provide analysis, consultation, gap assessment, facilitation and solutions.

Required Skills & Experience4+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree.
Additional Experience & Education- Prior success working in the context of large, complex, matrixed organizations.
- Demonstrated history of successful partnerships and leadership within a matrixed HR delivery system.
- Experience working in a shared services/COE environment.
- Demonstrated track record of comprehensive (macro and micro level) organizational design implementations.
- Track record of coaching, developing, and influencing executive leaders (VP+) to achieve strategic initiatives.
- Comfortable with negotiation, conflict resolution, and delivering an opposing point of view.
- Exceptional business acumen with comprehensive and systemic understanding of business operations.
- Experience developing large‑scale change plans with a track record of effective implementation and sustainability.
- Strong analytical and synthesis skills, with ability to conduct and interpret quantitative/qualitative analysis.
- Excellent communication, presentation, listening, empathy, group facilitation skills.
- Dynamic leader with political savvy, integrity, authenticity, and ability to motivate others.
- SPHR or HRCI certification preferred.
- Provide proactive and strategic HR consulting and influence in the areas of organizational effectiveness and design, employee engagement, workforce planning, change management, performance, and talent management.
- Establish and sustain consultative relationships with client partners, broker HR Center of Excellence services, and coordinate and lead client service delivery teams.
- Lead integration of people strategies, programs, and practices across business functions.
- Serve as organization change consultant, applying change‑management approaches and delivering enterprise talent‑management programs.
- Develop and deploy talent‑management and organizational effectiveness solutions.
- Lead project structure and work plan for implementation of talent‑management programs; lead committees and work groups on engagement and culture strategies.
- Provide analysis, gap assessments, facilitation, and solutions; lead best‑practice sharing.
