Position SummaryThe Senior HR Generalist (Consulting) is a client‑facing, strategic consulting role responsible for managing the full HR lifecycle for multiple small to mid‑sized business clients. This position combines advanced HR expertise, compliance management, and project leadership while serving as the primary HR account owner and trusted advisor. This role currently focuses on managing low‑to‑mid‑tier client accounts
, with opportunities for advancement into higher‑tier accounts as you demonstrate proven ability, client retention, and consulting competency. Compensation will grow in alignment with performance and business impact. You will report directly to the Director of HR Consulting and collaborate with the broader CYB team to deliver exceptional HR guidance, project leadership, and client support. This position is ideal for a strong HR professional ready to deepen their consulting expertise, take ownership of multiple client relationships, and grow with a rapidly scaling HR consulting firm.
Candidates with limited or no proven track record of HR consulting experience will NOT be considered for this role. In‑house HR experience will not be considered; we require one‑on‑one HR consulting with small to medium‑sized, growing businesses.
✔ 3–4 years of HR consulting experience (managing 8–12 clients) - This is REQUIRED!
Responsibilities- Serve as the primary HR consultant for assigned clients, managing onboarding through retention.
- Lead compliance audits (FLSA, I‑9, personnel files) and implement corrective actions.
- Advise on ADA, FMLA, EEOC, and multi‑state employment law matters.
- Conduct investigations and draft findings and corrective actions.
- Develop and update policies, handbooks, and performance management systems.
- Coach managers on leadership, communication, and corrective action.
- Design and deliver management and compliance trainings.
- Conduct compensation benchmarking and assist with pay equity and classification.
- Supervise HR Operations & Quality Specialists or Assistants supporting client deliverables.
- 3–4 years of direct HR consulting experience managing 8–12 small to mid‑sized business clients (20–100 employees each)
- 5–6 total years of progressive HR experience (not recruiting)
- Active PHR or SHRM‑CP certification (required)
- Proven success in complex employee relations, compliance, and multi‑state HR matters
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft 365, Gusto, Rippling, or similar HRIS systems
- Must reside in Florida and have prior remote work experience
- Client references required and verified
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized, self‑directed, and detail‑oriented.
- Comfort with presenting to executives and handling complex client situations.
- High self‑awareness, emotional intelligence, and professionalism.
- Experience leading organizational change and culture initiatives.
- Confident advising C‑suite and executive teams on HR strategy and compliance.
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills in both virtual and live settings.
- Skilled in identifying client needs, supporting proposals, and contributing to retention and growth.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and HRIS tools for process automation and reporting.
- Familiarity with OSHA compliance, Zoho, or other workflow management systems.
- 100% remote (must be based in Florida).
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Mountain Time, with flexibility for client needs.
- Occasional travel for client onboarding, investigations, or training.
- Requires professional home office setup and reliable high‑speed internet.
