Responsibilities
  • Manages the center of expertise for leave of absence administration within the HR Service Center, including hiring, mentoring, coaching, performance reviews, merit increases, counseling team members, and providing training tools and guidance.
  • Independently leads projects for the area of responsibility, such as implementation of new tools, extension of services, policy and process improvement, establishing timelines and deliverables, facilitating stakeholder meetings, and ensuring established objectives, deadlines, and financial outcomes.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for the development, interpretation, and administration of relevant policies and procedures, while maintaining knowledge across all service center areas.
  • Applies thorough understanding of Workday, Neocase, Kronos and other tools, including integration with other applications and downstream impact on benefits, pay, and other areas.
  • Ensures procedural compliance for all colleague contacts, including case creation and resolution within service levels.
  • Builds collaborative relationships with Total Rewards, Health Ministries, HR Operations, Legal Department, and vendors to facilitate efficient workflow administration.
  • Leads cross‑functional project teams, provides education and training, and actively markets department services to Health Ministries and leaders; may perform legal‑department requested work.
  • Maintains production standards and quality of work, evaluates case productivity reports, establishes and monitors team analytics and metrics, and uses presentation skills to update HR and HM leaders.
  • Develops new processes or modifies current processes to meet business needs, resolves inquiries from HMs regarding scope of work and SLAs, and maintains positive relationships between HMs and internal/external departments.
  • Promotes continuous improvement, develops sustainable, efficient, and effective processes for RHM’s within guaranteed service level agreements.
  • Serves as key expert to apply laws, regulations, policies, procedures and systems ensuring compliance and mitigating risk to Trinity Health.
  • Maintains knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, Trinity Health’s Corporate Integrity Program, Code of Ethics and other policies and procedures to reflect honest, ethical and professional behavior.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Human Resources, Payroll, HRIS, Time and Attendance, Benefits administration and implementation, process integration, gained through a bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Five to seven years progressively more experience in leave of absence administration, occupational health, disability management, or related field; minimum two years of supervisory/team leadership experience.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in program/strategy development, trend analysis, vendor management, regulatory compliance, and policy/procedure interpretation and enforcement. Healthcare, multi‑state/multi‑site, and call center/shared services experience preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge and application of benefits and leave of absence laws and regulations (FMLA, ADAAA, EEOC, HIPAA, ERISA, DOL, Section 125, federal, state, local leave laws, etc.).
  • Strong interpersonal, consultative, and relationship building skills; ability to facilitate teams/groups, influence through leadership, communication and negotiation; ability to read subtle nuances of situations and react/plan accordingly.
  • Familiarity with Workday, UKG Dimensions and Case Management systems preferred; comprehensive knowledge of HRIS and understanding downstream impact to benefits and pay.
  • Demonstrated decision‑making, leadership, mentorship, communication, listening, problem‑solving, analytical, conflict‑resolution, written and oral presentation skills.
