About the Role:

Our Queensland Workers Compensation Advisor will strategically manage Queensland statutory workers’ compensation claims. You will ensure the effective implementation of our injury management framework and provide expert advice on legislative obligations.

In this role you will be responsible for efficiently managing workers compensation claims, collaborating with payroll for accurate processing, interpreting claims for eligibility, ensuring compliance with legislation, implementing policies, collaborating with rehabilitation teams, supporting injured employees, coordinating return-to-work plans, maintaining documentation, and identifying opportunities for process improvement in workers compensation management practices.

This role can be done as a part or full time, between 3-5 days per week, and options for reduced hours. The role will be based from our Virginia manufacturing site, and can also have some work from home.

What your days look like:

  • Manage all statutory Queensland workers’ compensation claims from lodgement to finalisation under Self Insurance requirement
  • Collaborate closely with the payroll and accounts department to process workers compensation claims accurately
  • Review and interpret workers compensation claims to determine eligibility and appropriate action
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Queensland State-based legislation governing workers compensation and Self Insurance
  • Collaborate with rehabilitation and health teams to assess and manage workplace injuries
  • Provide support for injured employees undergoing rehabilitation programs
  • Assist in coordinating return-to-work plans for employees recovering from workplace injuries
  • Manage the maintenance of accurate documentation of workers compensation claims and related activities
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement in workers compensation management practices
  • Maintain strong business relationships by conducting claims review meetings and providing education to managers and supervisors
  • Support internal audits and facilitate compliance with workers’ compensation legislation and company policies.

  • Relevant work experience within a Self-Insurance claims management function, knowledge of the QLD Workers Compensation Act
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and capacity to understand complex medical technical issues
  • Demonstrated experience in the management and processing of Queensland statutory claims, including rehabilitation and return to work
  • Sound knowledge of workers’ compensation and rehabilitation legislative requirements
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
