This is a FULL‑TIME REMOTE opportunity that must sit in the US.

Compensation Range for This Position Is $50,000 - $58,000

As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, Domestic
, you are responsible for finding and identifying the best talent to join the bold mission of Mercy Ships. You are an advocate for the candidate, a consultant to hiring teams, and a champion of our mission and values. In partnership with hiring teams, you will design and implement innovative recruitment strategies, host hiring events, and actively source passive talent to ensure we are fully staffed.

Some key priorities for this role are ATS administration, job board postings, initial screenings, talent acquisition strategy implementation, and building a talent pool through proactive outreaches.

How You’ll Contribute
  • Partner and build rapport with internal stakeholders to understand the hiring needs and alignment with organizational mission and translate information into effective hiring strategies.
  • Ensure a high‑touch, positive candidate experience and develop the ability to brief candidates on the organizational mission while also presenting a solid value proposition for opportunities.
  • Build a pipeline of talent through strategic sourcing via Linked In, Indeed, etc.
  • Facilitate/organize group and 1:1 training events as needed with hiring teams (i.e. interview training, Linked In education).
  • Identify, develop and implement effective full‑cycle recruitment processes including recruitment metrics, talent acquisition strategies, and building new talent pools.
  • Collaborate with internal branding team and contribute to the marketing strategies to attract passive and active candidates, as well as to increase local awareness of Mercy Ships and optimizing employer branding.
  • Develop an extensive network of potential candidates as an organized talent pool from alumni, past candidates, and those who have expressed interest via the Career Opportunities page.
  • Coordinate and implement seed‑planting initiatives through college career centers, churches, academic departments, and student groups.
  • Research advertising venues; developing effective ads and job postings; placing approved advertisements accordingly and monitoring their effectiveness.
  • Promote key roles, as appropriate, across the United States, through professional associations, university events, job fairs, conferences, etc.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to quickly build rapport via all available venues for candidate correspondence.
  • High aptitude for computer applications, including HRIS and ATS.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities while remaining delivery focused.
  • Excellent project planning, time management, communication, decision‑making, presentation, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to determine the best and most efficient sourcing method for different candidates.
  • Initiative and confidence to keep interviews running on time, persuade people to get their feedback in a timely manner, and nudge the team when necessary.
  • Relevant experience must include full‑lifecycle recruitment (end‑to‑end), including ownership of offer creation, negotiation, and closing.
  • Demonstrated experience with HR processes, diversity and inclusion practices, HR legal compliance, and the use of social media to support talent acquisition.
  • Supportive of Mercy Ships mission and vision and committed to its core values.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from 4‑year College or University, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in full lifecycle recruiting and or relationship management capacity.
  • Non‑profit recruiting experience is a plus.
  • Experience supporting a remote disburse team preferred.
