Assistant Human Resources Business Partner

Are you passionate about supporting people managers and driving organisational performance? In this role, you will work closely with your HR Business Partner to deliver high-quality, strategic, and operational HR support across the organisation. You will play a key part in driving forward a positive employee experience, supporting HR initiatives, partnering with key stakeholders, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional HR services across the Trust.

You will have relevant HR experience, preferably within a business partnering model. You should hold a degree or possess equivalent experience capable of operating at this level and have a professional HR qualification or be working towards one. In addition:

  • Demonstrable experience of collaborative working with a range of stakeholders, including partnership with union representatives.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Comprehensive, up‑to‑date knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.
Main duties of the job

You will work in close collaboration with the HR Business Partner, delivering both strategic and operational HR support throughout the organisation. You will play a vital role in fostering a positive employee experience, advancing HR initiatives, and building effective partnerships with key stakeholders. This includes ensuring the consistent delivery of outstanding HR services across the organisation.

We work in a blended way with a mix of home working and in the office, with location based on a business need. The roles base will be at Trust Headquarters in Ashton under Lyne with an expectation to travel across the wider organisational footprint as required.

Job responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide operational workforce support to the HR Business Partner, promoting best practice in people management across the Mental Health Network as well as the broader workforce and Organisational Development function.
  • Collaborate closely with the HR Business Partner to leverage multiple data sources for strategic workforce planning, modernisation, and transformation projects.
  • Support initiatives that drive engagement and performance improvement, embedding best HR practices and enhancing people management capability across care hubs and the Network.
  • Take responsibility for a designated portfolio of work, contributing to the successful delivery of the organisations overall people plans.
