Program and Role Description

As a Career Success Coach
, you will fulfill a pivotal role in the Progress phase of the Integrated Employment Services (IES) client journey by supporting job seekers in developing the skills, confidence, and strategies required to secure sustainable employment. This role focuses on individualized coaching, employment action planning, workshop facilitation, and structured employment preparation aligned with labour market opportunities. The Career Success Coach works closely with clients to identify employment goals, address barriers to employment, and build job search competencies through one‑on‑one coaching, workshops, and ongoing support.

You will also collaborate with team members to ensure coordinated service delivery across all phases of the client journey and meet individual targets that contribute to the team’s collective ability to meet contractual obligations with our funder and lead clients to successful outcomes.

Position Details

Position Type: Full‑time (37.5 hours per week) one‑year contract with excellent potential for permanency.
Starting Salary: $57,000.00 (or $58,000.00 if the successful candidate holds a master’s degree, full bilingualism in French, or full proficiency in Sign Language).
Base Location and Travel Requirements: This opportunity is based at The Career Foundation’s Etobicoke Employment Centre, located near Islington Ave. & Hwy 401. It requires periodic travel to other locations as needed, including employer sites and other stakeholder locations. The position permits a hybrid schedule, allowing one work-from-home day per week, based on performance and operational requirements.
Reporting To: Area Manager, Employment and Placement Services.
Vulnerable Sector Check: An offer of employment is contingent on the incumbent providing an acceptable Vulnerable Sector Check.

Responsibilities

Client Coaching, Employment Preparation, and Workshop Facilitation

  • Provides individualized employment coaching, supporting clients in developing clear employment goals, job search strategies, and career pathways aligned with labour market opportunities.
  • Develops, implements, and regularly updates individualized Employment Action Plans to ensure alignment with client needs, program requirements, and employment outcomes.
  • Facilitates structured workshops and group sessions related to job search strategies, résumé development, interview preparation, workplace expectations, and career development.
  • Develops and updates workshop materials to ensure content is current, engaging, and aligned with labour market trends and program objectives.
  • Supports clients in identifying strengths, transferable skills, and career interests to guide realistic and sustainable employment pathways.
  • Provides guidance on education pathways, skills upgrading, professional accreditation, and training opportunities.
  • Assists clients in navigating online job boards, employer websites, and digital application systems.
  • Supports clients in developing professional communication skills and workplace readiness competencies.
  • Encourages client engagement, motivation, and accountability throughout the employment preparation and job search process.
  • Identifies employment barriers and implements appropriate strategies, supports, and interventions to improve job readiness.
  • Collaborates with Employer Engagement & Placement Specialists to align job‑ready clients with suitable employment opportunities.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with community partners and training providers to support referrals and skill development opportunities.
  • Makes required client follow‑ups and maintains appointments within program timelines and updates FFAI and New Org systems accordingly.
